Almost all of our family, on both sides, were in town for the holidays. We had so much fun! I’m so glad I was able to take a week off of work and enjoy myself with them.
The fun began with an early Christmas celebration with Scott’s family. The highlight of the evening was the first ever talent show. (I hope this becomes a tradition.)
Scott as “Max the Magician”
Chris the juggler
A few skits and dances which I missed, because Zeke was busy running away and Lily had a meltdown or two of her own. Lily sang a few lines of “I am a Child of God” beautifully before she realized everyone was looking and listening to her. Then she became dead silent. I went up and joined her “on stage” to give her courage. But instead of a duet, it ended up being me singing a solo.
Zeke performed all his various faces: surprised, embarrassed, sad, angry, super excited, and “football!” Football was the crowd favorite. (I can’t seem to find a picture.)
The next day, we had a baby shower for Scott’s sister, Ashley. She is expecting her first in June. This is the only time most of us will see her before her new addition.
We played a lot of fun games. The most memorable being “diapering” Ashley and Scott’s mom.
They were such good sports!
I made the cake. It’s cute. I wish I was better at decorating cakes. Maybe I’ll take the time to learn and practice this next year.
