10 Things about me

My friend (and former college roommate), Juli, blogged 10 things about herself today and tagged me to do the same thing.

1)  I love to cook, especially with my kids. Our favorite thing to make together is chocolate chip cookies. I just don’t like doing all the dishes I create while cooking!

2) I collect names. I love learning the meaning of names and why people give or are given names.

3) My favorite time of day is the quiet morning hours. When there is time to think and wake up before the hustle of the day begins.

4) Someday I want to visit Italy and Greece. I want to see the architecture, study the art, lay on the beaches, and eat the food.

5) I detest most video game systems. The exceptions being Wii and Kinnect. (There is reasoning and a story behind this, but suffice it to say I detest most of them.)

6) I love to learn. Math and art are my favorite subjects. But I also love to read (nonfiction being my favorite genre).

7) I play the piano, organ, and clarinet adequately, but not superbly. It’s more for my personal enjoyment, because there are so many that perform so much better than I do.

8) Tennis and bike riding are my favorite sports. I’m not very competitive by nature.

9) I naturally hope for the best in humanity. I give people the benefit of the doubt that their intentions or the conditions are in their benefit.

10) I tend to procrastinate key projects in my life. It isn’t until I consciously acknowledge I’m putting more effort into not doing them than doing them that I finally tackle the task at hand. (Post it notes on the mirror or front door are the best way to motivate me to do something.)

I’ve been so inconsistent in my blogging that I don’t even know who still follows me. If you would like to blog 10 things about yourself, then please consider yourself tagged.

Ahhh, Candice! Thanks for responding. I enjoyed reading these things about you. What a good example you are, giving people the benefit of the doubt. My dad says to assume people are doing the best they can at any given time. What good advice. Love you! PS I may call you soon for some design advice.

I check on your blog periodically. I liked your ten things. I too like to look for the good in people and assume they are good intentioned. Nathan is opposite he always analyzes everything and then decides where I do the opposite. We're a good balance for each other. :)
