April was a crazy month for us. We were running from one event to another, but we had so much fun!
The first event, Zeke turned 2 years old. I was expecting him to be so exciting about his birthday presents. (He absolutely loves football and Star Wars.) Maybe he was just tired. He didn’t seem very excited to unwrap his presents. Once Lily helped him unwrap them, I was expecting a boysterous “Football!” Instead, he gave a shrug of the shoulders and a nonchalant “football”. He has since shown how much he loves his football helmet, jersey, and blow-up light sabers.
(Zeke prefers wearing less clothes these days.)
We had planned to go to Chuck-E-Cheese, but Zeke wasn’t feeling up to it. Instead, we spent the day at home just hanging out.
We went to one of Zeke’s favorite places for dinner: McDonald’s. They have a basketball hoop in the PlayLand that Zeke loves to play with.
And then we went home and had some ice cream.
Saturday night, I stayed up way too late making Zeke’s birthday cake. It was supposed to be such a simple cake idea: edging, and a Darth Vader figuring. I tried making the icing red, but it turned out bright pink! In desperation to not have to mix more icing, I added green to it and made brown.
Sunday, we celebrated his birthday with my family. Zeke loved all the attention, and the presents: Elmo books (even one that sings), clothes, and his favorite . . . Darth Vader mask that speaks.
Now we are regularly greeted by a 35” high Darth Vader attacking us with a blow-up light saber. Ah the joys of our little two year!
