60 years (part 2)

Once we joined up with Scott’s brothers and their families, the fun really began. We headed down to the local water park. The kids had a blast running through the water and playing on the toys.

I didn’t join in the water fun . . . because we had to look presentable in a few hours and that just seemed like too much effort after running around in water. But Scott and the kids had a lot of fun! (Bonus, the other kids at the park were really careful to not spray Zeke with the water gun. Scott on the other hand was fair game.)

After we got all cleaned up, we had a delicious dinner provided by Scott’s aunt and grandma. Scott presented our group gift (a book of reasons we love her) to his mom. She loved it! She started reading it to us, until she realized there were quite a few long entries. So instead, she skipped to just highlighting each of the grandkids’ artwork.

And then we ate the delicious cupcakes that Tay and Aunt Kathy made just for Charlotte.

The next day, everyone else was leaving. But before they left, we had a picnic with Aunt Sarah and then headed over to the water park for more fun. This time, we played Golf (a card game). We decided to spice it up a bit. The person that did the worst each round had to let a bucket of ice cold water dump on their heads or run through the “rings of death.”

There was a grandma there watching her grandson. She got a big kick out of hearing us chant “Buckets. Buckets. Buckets.” everyone time someone lost. And then watching the poor soul suffer their punishment. (We must have been having too much fun to take any pictures.)

On the way back to Scott’s mom’s house, we stopped so Lily could show her dad the pictograph Grandma had shown us earlier. I have to admit it was adorable watching my little girl lead her dad through the sage brush and to their destination (it was about 20 yards off the road). Mike, Noel & family soon joined them . . . .

We were able to stay a day longer than everyone else. Which meant special one on one time with Charlotte and Michael.

We are so glad we were able to go up and help Scott’s mom celebrate turning 60. We’re so blessed to have her in our lives!

I love my mom's expression in the picture of her getting a present with her grandkids. She really appears interested [sarcasm inserted here]. She actually was excited to get her gifts, but this unfortunate picture wouldn't show it.

Also I did get a picture of you (Candice) getting a bucket on your head, but you must not have wanted to use it because I got your back side in the picture again :)

I am glad you are writing about this so I can get the scoop on what you did that weekend. Sounds like you had a blast.
