In preparation for Thanksgiving, we told the kids the story of the first Thanksgiving for Family Home Evening. In all honesty, I don’t know how much of it they really “got.” But they squirmed around and pretended to listen. Lily managed to answer a few questions, but she was pretty antsy.
Naturally, they both had more fun when it was time to color and make the “Thankful Turkey.”
Lily loved listing off every little thing she was thankful for: hands, air, trees, etc. My favorite was when she said hands. We asked her why and she said, “We can’t do anything without hands!” So true.
