Although the kids ended up having colds all October, we still managed to have fun. Before the kids were sick we went to visit our friends. They introduced us to Word with Friends . . .
Lily had so much fun with Eva and Cora. Zeke ran after them trying to be apart of all the fun. When it was time for bed, Lily, Eva, and Cora had an official sleepover. They were so excited! I’m amazed everyone slept that night.
Right after that trip,Zeke got sick. He had a fever and a rash. When he was starting to get better, he and Lily both came down with colds.
We wanted to take the kids to the pumpkin patch. There aren’t many pumpkin patches open on Mondays. Of those open on Monday, not all of them had corn mazes or reasonable prices. Scott laughed at me when I made a chart so I could decide. We went to Swan’s Farm. (We had gone there last year.)
Their corn maze represents Washington State. They gave us a list of cities to visit and facts to discover. It was a fun maze.
I love this picture of Zeke. It’s his “I’m so excited” face:
Our ward (church congregation) had a trunk or treat for the kids Saturday before Halloween. Grandma Charlotte and Grandpa Michael joined us. They had fun seeing the kids dressed up. (Getting a decent picture of the kids proved to be difficult. Zeke was very preoccupied with his candy.)
Lily and I also carved pumpkins. She had fun scooping the guts out of the pumpkins and choosing the design. We didn’t do anything fancy this year. I forgot to buy a carving kit. I was working with a steak knife.
Halloween night,we took the kids over to my parents’ house. They had fun seeing Grandma and Grandpa and being spoiled by them. There weren’t many houses in our neighborhood handing out candy, but I took them around while Scott handed out candy at our house. It was just the right amount of walking for the kids and more candy than I care for them to have.
