Now that Scott is done with his first year of grad school (Wahoo!), we wanted to do fun things together this summer. The first thing we wanted to do was take Lily to her first movie: UP. I thought a matinee would be a good time to go (less people for Lily to bother and she should be awake for the movie). There were only a handful of people (most of them senior citizens).
Lily didn’t like how her seat folded in half when she sat on it. The poor kid doesn’t weigh enough to keep the seat down, so I held her on my lap. (I didn’t realize until after the movie that they have booster seats for kids.) Lily was a little restless after watching so many previews, so Scott went to the concession stand and bought her some treats. She then sat on my lap happily snacking on Reese’s Pieces.
Naturally, Lily provided comedic relief. At one point in the movie, it was quiet and you watch the house with all the balloons float away. Lily chose that moment to say, “House Come Back.” “Balloons Come Back.” We heard a few snickers in the audience and a few people repeat what Lily said. Oh well. She’s 2, what can you expect?

The Monday after opening weekend we went for FHE. The kids hadn't been in about two years so it was like new again. Belen got scared but Enzo liked the animals (although he cried out a couple times that nigth so it might have been a little scary for him too). Enzo had a hard time keeping his chair down as well so we just sat Belen and Enzo on one together. Although I didn't know about the boosters, I doubt he'd use one. At least 2 and under is free! It was fun, and since we had free tickets, followed up by Coldstone ice cream. Yum!
How fun! Did she wear 3D glasses and everything? I think it would be even more fun to watch with movie with her. I talk to the movie screen too. :) Glad you got to have a fun family day out after all the hard work the past 2 semesters!
That's adorable. I'm sure it only made it more enjoyable for the others :)
ha ha, that's cute! And wasn't it such a great movie? I loved it. And I loved the dogs collars that made them talk. "I hid under your porch because I love you!" :)
