Moving Day

I wish we had had time to rest and recuperate from our trip, but we had two days to move out of our house. What a crazy month!

My mom was a saint to help me pack. Her life was just as hectic, if not more hectic than mine preparing for Blake’s wedding and everything else she had going on. For two weeks she spent almost every day at my house helping me pack. I wasn’t allowed to lift anything over 25 lbs. We would both fill boxes, and then she would move the boxes into the garage for me.

We had friends from work and church, Scott’s sister-in-law, and my mom  come and help us move the last of our things into a storage unit and scrub our house. It drove Scott crazy that women stayed until almost midnight helping me scrub every wall, every blind, etc, in the house. He thought it was cruel and unusual punishment. But my friends were very gracious to stay and help me until the job was done.

We were so exhausted! I felt bad for Scott, he had to go to work the next day. I could at least sleep in a little bit. (Thank goodness Lily had afternoon Kindergarten.)
