So last night Lily woke up in the middle of the night, which is nothing unusual.
However, Lily was having trouble falling back to sleep. So Candice decided to take her downstairs and let her watch TV until she got tired again. I came downstairs a few minutes later to see what was going on. To my amazement and surprise, Candice and Lily were watching poker on the TV. "You're watching poker with Lily?" I asked in bewilderment. "There was nothing good on," Candice responded. My thought then was, "Well I think this should be included in the 'nothing good on' category." I held my tongue from further comment though as I knew that Candice was tired. You've gotta love her!

ha ha. that's great! I never would have expected that either!
In my defense, Lily insisted on lying on the sofa and watching TV. I was trying to choose the most boring, but clean thing on TV, so she would fall asleep the fastest. The TV was only on for 10 seconds when Scott came down the stairs, and Lily was already falling asleep.
I expect my Granddaughter will be a card shark before the age of two.
Whats wrong with watching poker...am I the only person who enjoys the WSP?
Hmm... we played poker with some friends last weekend. Do I fall into the sinner's category now? We didn't bet anything.... and that's good because I had a hard time taking it seriously and lost all my chips in about three rounds. :)
Smart strategy Candice.
My roommates and I watch poker all the time and we are at BYU so I think all of you are safe
The issue here is not so much that teaching a child to gamble at such a young age is right or wrong, as it is that watching poker is about as silly as watching bowling on TV. I think I'd have the same reaction with that. PLAYING poker, I'm fine with. But WATCHING it on TV?
Totally agree with you Scott - certainly one of the TV programs that makes it to the top of the "nothing on" list :-))))))))) But Candice really did the smartest thing ever .... if you want to fall asleep it's while watching poker :-) So I guess in fact you are sharing the same thoughts about this after all :-)
I would rather watch poker rather than NASCAR or Basketball.
