So it was Candice's turn to say our evening family prayer with Lily and I. It was about 10pm at this time. To my great surprise Candice began her prayer, "Heavenly Father, we thank thee for the food that's before us." At that moment I was lost. I thought we were saying our evening prayers before bed, not eating. I then opened my eyes to make sure that we were in fact in the bedroom praying and not at the dinner table eating. I then peered over at Candice and asked, "Food? What are you talking about?" We then burst out laughing at the realization that Candice had been praying on autopilot!
By the way, the lady with the hot 80's hairdo is supposed to be Candice. She did not approve of the photo. Oh well!

If that is Candice are you the little boy next to her? ;)
Sounds like Candice and Mickayla both need a lesson on sincere prayers. Mickayla says the prayer on the food in turbo mode, and last night before she was even done saying amen she was already asking mom a question about the dinner. I think those type of prayers count against you. :)
Ha ha, Erin. I figured I probably had that coming. But it was a risk I was willing to take!
When we first moved to Utah I had this temp job as a receptionist which included answering and transferring every call "Franklin Capital. How can I direct your call." I had literally answered the phone 530 times that way that day. Ann happened to be visiting and when I went to pray on dinner I said, "Franklin Capital..." in my prayer voice then burst out laughing when I realized what I had said. I think God gives us points for trying even when we don't have enough brain left to think about what we are saying.
I believe we are all running on brain dead mode. I hope God will be pacient with us
